The Belarusian Central Botanical Garden
The Central botanical garden of the Belarus National academy of sciences can be listed among the 10 best gardens of the world. To achieve that aim it should breed 10 thousand species of plants. The Belarusian garden is approaching to this figure. At the same time the Belarusian flora consists of about 1,5 thousand species.According to Professor Vladimir Reshetnikov, the director of the garden, his establishment organizes special expeditions to find new plants. The central botanical garden also actively participates in international seed exchange.
Belarus Landscape Reserve Pribuzhskoye Polesye
Pribuzhskoye Polesye Republican Landscape Reserve (area of 7,950 ha) is located in the territory of Brest Region, in the southern part of Brest Ditrict. Its length from north to south is around 30 km and its width is from several dozens metres to 9 km. In 2003 Pribuzhskoye Polesye International Biospheric Reserve was established on the basis of the reserve.
The largest part of the lands of Pribuzhskoye Polesye is covered with forest. Almost all the forest formations of Belarus are represented by small fragments or massifs, except grey-alder forests. Endangered, exceptionally exotic for Belarus flood-plain and taiga forests can also be found.

Smychok Belarus Republican Landscape Reserve
Smychok Republican Landscape Reserve (area of 2,635 ha) was established in the territory of Zhlobin and Rechitsa Districts, Gomel Region to preserve the unique living natural complex with populations of exotic and endangered species of plants and animals on the Red List of the Republic of Belarus.
New locations where exotic representatives of flora and fauna naturalised have been detected during registration of the animals and plants (over 30 species) on the Red List of the Republic of Belarus in the territory of the reserve on the Dnieper river. E.g., the Jesuit's nut and European white waterlily were found on pokrov Lake. The waterlily feels quite at home on Platichnoye Lake and the cut-off of the Berezina river. And the black stork has taken fancy to the Yamitskoye stow (the bird prefers old wet deciduous and mixed forests near marshes, river flood plains and other water .
